Wearable sensing for clinical applications
Connected health solutions (CHS) team at imec Netherlands is active for more than 10 years in developing convenient solutions for monitoring health of patients. This includes miniaturized and low-power wearable devices as well as methods to extract information about vital signs or cognitive state of a patient. In this talk, we will share information about a number of wearable sensors developed at imec and discuss how they are used in clinical research applications. In particular, we will share two use cases. The first one is discussing the experience and outcome of a study in end stage renal disease patients in which we have monitored changes in body fluid. The second one is presenting our wearable brain monitoring solution developed for a use case of monitoring cardiac arrest patients in the ICU.
